Hannah Herzig, MD, MPH

Hannah Herzig is team leader at the European Commission’s Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority, where her work focuses on vaccines and therapeutics against deliberate health threats. She also serves as policy assistant to Peter Piot, the special advisor on health security to President von der Leyen. She has previously worked on health system strengthening, digital health and the Covid-19 response for maritime transport. Hannah is licensed as a physician in Belgium and Germany, holds a master of public health from Harvard University and is completing an MBA at INSEAD.
