Lieutenant Colonel Hekja Marlen Werner

Since October 2023, German Army Lieutenant Colonel Hekja Marlen Werner has been the commander of the Armored Artillery Battalion 375, based in Eastern Bavaria. During her officer career she has held positions as platoon and company commander and attended the 13th General and Admiral Staff Officer Course. Afterwards, she spent three years as the deputy army attaché in Washington D.C. Prior to her current assignment, she served at the German Ministry of Defense.
LtCol Werner holds a master’s degree in military leadership and international security from Helmut-Schmidt-University. Her military career saw her deployed to Afghanistan.
