Dr. Winfred W. Williams graduated Harvard College, cum laude, Biochemical Sciences, medical school at NYU School of Medicine, and residency and fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is the Associate Chief of the Division of Nephrology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Nationally and internationally recognized expert in health policy addressing health disparities in the care of ESKD and kidney transplantation, his 2015 landmark study, published as the cover article for the Amer J of Transplantation, provided a innovative kidney allocation algorithm that increased the rate of kidney transplantation for African American patients in the U.S. In 2021.
