Alexander Schmitt

Alexander Schmitt is a Partner at Lightspeed, based in Berlin, with a focus on B2B and FinTech investments. He's dedicated to strengthening Europe's entrepreneurial ecosystem and divides his time between Berlin and Munich. Alexander's mission is to support European startups in becoming category leaders. With a background in computer science and finance, he founded his own fintech company to address industry challenges. Having experienced the journey of building and selling a business, he deeply understands the challenges founders face, drawing from his experience as an investor at Cherry Ventures. Alexander holds degrees from Technical University Munich, MIT, and the CDTM. Outside of work, he's passionate about sports, from skiing and climbing to kiting and sailing, always seeking new challenges.
