Foteini Papagioti
Foteini Papagioti (she/her) is a senior global policy advisor based out of the ICRW-US office and working remotely from New York. She is responsible for conducting research and analysis and providing evidence-based strategic guidance to governments, international organizations, and ICRW’s policy and advocacy team, with a focus on feminist foreign policy and global gender architecture/institutions.
Prior to joining ICRW, Foteini consulted for ICRW and was a co-author of our 2022 Feminist U.N. Campaign Report Card on the Secretary-General along with lead author Spogmay Ahmed. Prior to that, Foteini was a Consultant for UN Women, where she conducted research on Women, Peace, and Security; feminist foreign policy; military expenditure and gender equality; and gender-sensitive financing in peacebuilding. As an intern for UN Women’s Humanitarian and Crisis Response Team, she has also contributed to research evaluating the implementation of commitments to gender equality in humanitarian response plans.
Foteini has also researched gender parity and feminist leadership in the United Nations, evaluating the Secretary-General’s 2017 Gender Parity Strategy as a consultant for Gender@Work, and exploring gender parity and geographic diversity in senior appointments at the UN as a graduate research assistant for the NYU Center for International Cooperation.
