Karen Donfried

Dr. Karen Donfried recently stepped down as Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs. Prior to that role, she served as president of the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), as the senior director for European affairs on the National Security Council, and as the national intelligence officer for Europe on the National Intelligence Council.  She began her career at the Congressional Research Service.
