Former Ambassador Piper Campbell is the inaugural chair of the Department of Foreign Policy and Global Security at American University's School of International Service. A career diplomat, she retired in 2018 with the rank of Minister Counselor, having served as Head of the U.S. Mission to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia, and Consul General in Basrah, Iraq.
