U.S. Scholarship

Attend the GAC 2023 with a scholarship supported by the Heinrich Böll Foundation, Washington D.C.!

Funded by the Heinrich Böll Foundation, Washington, D.C., this scholarship is open to students who are committed to furthering transatlantic cooperation and have demonstrated exceptional achievements and leadership qualities.

Our aim for the GAC is to create a platform that not only celebrates transatlantic exchange but also promotes understanding, acceptance, and equal representation for all. Therefore, we especially encourage students from underrepresented groups and students with limited financial resources to apply with the intent to create an enriched and diverse transatlantic community.

What do we offer?

  • A scholarship to cover domestic travel costs to Boston 
  • Free conference admission
  • If you do not have a place to stay in Boston, we will provide hotel accomodation

Application Requirements

Applicants should:

  • Be interested in U.S.-German relations and transatlantic cooperation
  • Be between the age of 18 and 30 years old
  • Be a student enrolled in a full-time degree program at a university in the United States (students coming to the US for exchange would not be eligible). We accept any degree program and academic level.

How to Apply

Please submit the following information here by September 22nd, 2023, 11:59 PM Eastern Time:

  • Resume (max. 2 pages)
  • Certificate of enrollment at a U.S. university
  • Answers to the following 3 questions (max. 200 words per question)
    • How would you benefit from attending the GAC 2023?
    • What issues are you passionate about and what is the unique perspective you would bring to the conference?
    • Why are you interested in Germany or in transatlantic relations?

If you are selected as a scholarship recipient but have already bought a ticket for the conference, the ticket price will be refunded.
